Aim
Brask Inc. is dedicated to enhancing our environmental performance and implementing best practices to minimize the environmental impacts of our business operations. We will develop and implement strategies to mitigate environmental risks and promote sustainability within our organization. This document serves to inform senior management, employees, and contractors about their environmental roles and responsibilities within Brask Inc.
Policy Aims Include:
- Implementing environmental actions within our organization
- Monitoring and continuously improving our environmental actions internally
- Demonstrating leadership by working sustainably with suppliers, communicating with customers, and recommending industry-relevant environmental initiatives
Scope
This Environmental Policy applies to all employees and contractors, both full-time and part-time. It will also be shared with suppliers, partners, and consultants to encourage best practices throughout our value chain.
Intent
This Environmental Policy formalizes our commitment to supporting environmental sustainability principles. We recognize that a sustainable environment is essential to our organization and the well-being of our employees. We are committed to accelerating the transition to a sustainable, low-carbon economy and reducing, and ultimately eliminating, the environmental impact of our operations.
Our Commitment:
- Promote environmental responsibility within the organization and communicate and implement this policy at all levels within the workforce.
- Assess the environmental impacts of our operations and set annual objectives and targets to improve our environmental performance, with regular reviews of these targets.
- Allocate adequate resources to fulfill our commitment to this policy and the environment.
- Comply with all relevant environmental legislation and regulations.
- Clearly define and communicate responsibilities to management, employees, and contractors so that everyone is aware of their individual obligations.
- Ensure that all our policies and services are developed in a manner that complements this policy.
- Incorporate environmental considerations into our procurement processes.
- Report our environmental performance in our annual report.
- Encourage all partners and other key stakeholders to commit to improving environmental performance.
- Reduce our use of energy and water and minimize waste through reduction, reuse, and recycling, whether employees are working in the office or from home.
- Consider the level and mode of travel required, encouraging lower-carbon transportation options.
- Ensure appropriate levels of carbon offsetting are in place to neutralize emissions, only as a last resort when it is not possible to avoid carbon-intensive activities or operate more efficiently.
Additional Actions:
- Collaborating with environmental specialists as required.
- Preparing and promoting our environmental policy and action plan.
- Monitoring and reducing utility consumption in office buildings and home working environments, and measuring the impact of our supply chain and company travel.
- Increasing recycling practices and optimizing the use of technological equipment where appropriate.
- Promoting, encouraging, and rewarding lower-carbon travel choices.
As Employers, We Will:
- Share the responsibility for the environment with our employees, board members, and service providers.
- Demonstrate a clear commitment to the environment and lead by example, ensuring that the protection of the environment is promoted to all employees.
Our Employees Will:
- Be familiar with the environmental impact and requirements relevant to their roles and activities and take responsibility for their own impact on the environment.
Our Contractors Will:
- Comply with this Environmental Policy and integrate its principles into their work practices.
- Report their environmental performance and initiatives to Brask Inc.
- Collaborate with us to reduce the overall environmental impact of their activities and the supply chain.
Our Suppliers Will:
- Provide their environmental policies to Brask Inc. to demonstrate their carbon footprint and reduction targets where possible.
- Collaborate with us to reduce the overall environmental impact of the supply chain.
- Communicate this Environmental Policy to all employees, contractors, and other stakeholders, and make it available to the general public.
Review and Responsibility
We will review this Environmental Policy annually, measuring targets and performance as part of that review. Implementation of this Environmental Policy is the direct responsibility of the board and senior management, and indirectly, all directors, employees, and contractors working for Brask Inc.
